With African Fashion having a big impact in the Fashion industry these days, it's no surprise that various marketplaces have been created to bring African Fashion and Culture forward. Although many marketplaces are being put in place everyday, here are my top 3 to dates:
Zuvaa is right there at the top of the list. This online store was created by a young Nigerian lady called Kelechi Anyadiegwu. Zuvaa specializes on African Fashion for ladies and sells all types of clothes and accessories from around the world. Designers are mostly from Africa but based in different parts of the world. Zuvaa operates from the US and is always at the top when it comes to trend.
Afrikrea is a French based online store that was created in 2013 by 2 African friends called Kadry and Moulaye. These 2 lads left their high profile job and created Afrikrea which has become their passion over the time. Afrikrea offers payments in installments from 60 euros for those buyers who do not have the possibility to pay in one go. Once an order has been placed, the seller has the choice to accept or reject the sale. This is another great site to check out when if comes to African Fashion.
Etsy is more popular and bigger than the Zuvaa and Afrikrea put together. The only reason why it comes it 3rd position is because although Etsy specializes in handmade products, African Fashion is not their only center of interest. Etsy focuses in every product that is handmade. This is also a great place to look for and buy great African Fashion designs and inspiration.
