Hey Guys, What Do You Think Of This?
Very recently, Japanese designer Junya Watanabe came under fire and was very criticized for presenting his new 2016 men's collection in Paris. Just this time, the critics did not focus on the collection itself. The designer was slammed for one reason: he presented an African inspired collection and yet there was not a single black model on the catwalk.
It's clear that African fashion was the inspiration. The show featured several African trends such as the Masai-style layered necklaces and colorful/vibrant Dutch fabrics.
With so many black people (including models) leaving in Paris, I'm really curious to know if it really wasn't possible to find one in order to show diversity.
